Being frugal does not necessarily mean you deny yourself some of the nicer things--it often means instead that you don't overpay for them! As many of you know, I recently spent six weeks in the States, during which I picked up a number of gifts for my wife and various of our friends back in Ukraine. Although my wife is incredibly frugal on nearly every possible topic, she does enjoy very good perfumes. However, that does *not* mean I intend to pay retail for them! One she had heard of and wanted was a Tom Ford scent called "Black Orchids." I looked all over the place for the best possible price--and nearly everywhere the "super sales" were about $117 for a 100 milliliter bottle (3.4 ounce) of the eau de parfum. However, one small company in North Carolina had it for $100. (I actually bought two--one was a gift for a very close family friend here in Ukraine.) As I looked at the various prices there, I became convinced that if you happen to like high quality scents, this is a place definitely worth considering. It's called Travy Perfumes. The proprietor, Natalee, was extremely helpful and prompt in shipping the perfume to me where I was staying in Dallas. Although this will probably not affect you--I did have a small glitch when I attempted to order the perfume at the sale price while I was still in Ukraine. Because of all the scams affecting merchants dealing over the Internet, I received no response to my initial emails. When I arrived in the U.S., however, I called them and once they discovered I was a genuine customer, they were happy to honor their sale price--even though it was no longer on sale according to their website. I think this was understandable under my unusual circumstances, and their prompt response to make good on such a good sale price once we were in direct communication was a perfectly acceptable response to me. They have scents for men and women, and some skin care items and a few incidentals. There are many that are less expensive than this one, by the way--my wife happened to pick one that is obviously expensive. Other than having a good experience there as a customer, I have no connection with the firm.
